Amirian has strong work ethic

To the editor:

I am writing today to voice my support for Sven Amirian for Haverhill City Council. I believe that what this city needs now is a councilor with a good work ethic and some new ideas and Amirian has both these characteristics and more.

Perhaps you have seen him pedaling around town on his bike and cart distributing fliers and signs as he goes door-to-door. Or maybe you have had the chance to speak with him at the various public events and gatherings he regularly attends. You may have also seen him holding signs with his supporters on Saturday mornings out on Bradford Common. And you’ve probably noticed his larger-than-life signs around town as well.

Amirian finished extremely well in the preliminary election for a newcomer and he has used this positive outcome to redouble his efforts. Amirian is working extremely hard to meet the citizens of Haverhill and to get his message out. The time and resources he is putting into his campaign show his dedication to earning a seat on our City Council.

It is this kind of energy and dedication that he will continue to exhibit if he is elected on November 3. Amirian will be an extremely positive force on the council and his fair and even approach to the issues will be welcome. Please check out his Web site, www.svenamirian.com, for more information about his candidacy.

I encourage you to vote for Sven Amirian, No. 9 on the ballot, on November 3.

Amirian stands out among council candidates

To the editor:

As we approach the final election in Haverhill on Tuesday, Nov. 3, I am very excited at the prospect of Sven Amirian being elected to the City Council.

Having known Sven for the past two decades, I am impressed by his work ethic and commitment to serving Haverhill.

Sven will bring a unique, new skill set to the council. As the owner of two businesses in downtown Haverhill and a father of three young children, Sven understands the importance of budgeting and living within that budget. He also is someone who will bring new ideas to the council at a time when ideas are desperately needed.

Amirian’s proposal to have residents, both inside and outside the single-stream recycling pilot areas, weigh their trash and their recyclable materials is a small example of a way to get residents “invested” in our city and help the city’s bottom line.

As a father of two school-age children, I believe Sven will bring a much-needed different perspective to the council. Too often it seems the current council seems to focus on the “city side” of the budget at the expense of the “school side.” Amirian, with his oldest child now attending Walnut Square’s kindergarten, will no doubt be a strong advocate for Haverhill’s school system and view Haverhill’s budget in its totality.

I am proud to endorse Sven Amirian for City Council and encourage every reader of this paper to find out more about Sven and how we will help our city. Please visit his Web site at www.SvenAmirian.com.  Thank you and please vote for Sven on November 3.

Letter: Amirian is right choice for City Council

To the editor:

I was filled with great pride and pleasure when my son, Sven Amirian, first announced to me his intention to run for Haverhill City Council. Having had the opportunity to serve as the city solicitor in Haverhill under a number of administrations, I understand firsthand the challenges that our elected officials face. In these difficult economic times it is now more important than ever that we elect the right candidates to do the job.

What Haverhill needs now is a fresh perspective and new outlook to carry it from these dark times towards a brighter future. It is time for the next generation of city leaders to emerge and take up the torch. Sven Amirian will bring a youthful energy and an experienced business mind to the council.

Sven’s work in the real estate arena has prepared him to understands the nuances of city planning and he understands what is needed to insure that Haverhill grows in a calculated and responsible manner. Sven’s deep concern for the environment is also an asset as he will work tirelessly to preserve Haverhill’s open spaces and make sure that any new development does destroy our existing natural resources.

I am incredibly impressed with Sven’s abilities as a husband, father and businessman. I am certain he would make an excellent city councilor. You can find out more about Sven’s credentials and ideas at his Web site, www.svenamirian.com. I urge you all to vote for Sven Amirian for Haverhill City Council in the upcoming election. He will bring a welcome change!
